Let’s Get Started.
Step 1: Free Chemistry call
The process of finding a therapist can be daunting. It can feel like looking for a needle in a haystack to find someone that has availability, appointments that fit your schedule, and most importantly feels like a “good fit”. Determining if a therapist is right for you involves that intangible sense that you can only get from interacting with someone - Does their “vibe” feel right? Do I feel comfortable with this person? Do they seem professional?
I offer free 15-20 min “chemistry calls” so that you have a chance to connect with me and see if we jive before making a further commitment. We’ll briefly go over your reasons for seeking therapy, discuss whether your needs fit with the type of work I do, check in about any questions you have, and discuss scheduling if you’d like to move forward.

Step 2: Initial Evaluation
Our first 50-55 min session will focus on information gathering and goal setting. I’ll be asking more about your story, delving deeper into whatever is bringing you to therapy, and learning more about your history. We’ll begin to discuss your goals for therapy and how we might move towards those goals. I’ll share some more about my approach to therapy and give you an opportunity to ask many questions.
Step 3: Recurring Therapy
We’ll find a regular time to meet, typically on a weekly basis. How long you continue weekly therapy sessions totally depends on your own preferences and particular therapy needs. Some folks come to therapy to focus on a very specific issue and discontinue when they’ve made progress in that area. Others decide to continue therapy for a longer term period, because they identify new therapy goals or value having therapy as part of their mental health maintenance.
